Ignition (Car Dead? Call Ed. Soul dead? Call Jesus.)

I wrote this in honor of the owner of a local garage, and also dedicate it to everyone who has given or received a jump from a friend.

Car Dead? Call Ed. Soul Dead? Call Jesus.
Words and music by Dan Eumurian

Life is like the ignition system
On a car, truck or SUV.
You get limited miles on the engine
And years on the battery.

You can flash the lights and honk the horn
And play the radio,
Or you can use the remaining juice
To get the thing to go.

REFRAIN
Life is short, youíre down a quart,
You just canít fix it all.
Tires are shot, sheís runniní hot.
You need an overhaul.

To be on solid ground, donít mess around
With auto and sin diseases.
Car dead? Call Ed.
Soul dead? Call Jesus.

Itís a great thing to forgive yourself
And be a self-made person.
If you donít know where youíre from and are going,
Your situation will worsen.

The Lord belongs in the driverís seat,
In charge of navigation.
Just let him rule; heíll provide the fuel
To reach your destination.

REFRAIN
Life is short, youíre down a quart,
You just canít fix it all.
Tires are shot, sheís runniní hot.
You need an overhaul.

To be on solid ground, donít mess around
With auto and sin diseases.
Car dead? Call Ed.
Soul dead? Call Jesus.
